NHS TREATMENTS

Dentist, Honour Health, Jesmond, Newcastle, Ponteland, Stanley

We provide the full range of NHS dental treatments at our Newcastle and Stanley practices.

You are entitled to any NHS dental treatment which you need to maintain your dental health.

Your Honour Health dentist in Jesmond (Newcastle) or Stanley will give you a treatment plan after your dental health assessment, which will show you what dental treatment you require, and the costs involved.

There are three standard charges for a course of NHS dental treatment, depending on the treatment needed.

From 1st April 2024:

Band 1 – £26.80 (examination, diagnosis, advice)

Band 2 – £73.50 (Band 1 above plus fillings, root canal work and extractions)

Band 3 – £319.10 (Bands 1 and 2 above plus crowns, dentures and bridges)

Urgent – £26.80

We may offer to carry out part of the work on your NHS dental treatment plan privately if it is not available on the NHS.

Some treatments such as dental implants, white fillings in back teeth and aesthetic dentistry are not available on NHS dental treatment plans and can only be carried out privately.

Your dentist will be able to explain which treatments are not available on the NHS.

You are entitled to receive free NHS dental care if:

  • you are under 18
  • you are under 19 and in full time education
  • you are pregnant
  • you have given birth in the last twelve months
  • you are receiving Income Support, Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income-Related Employment and Support Allowance or the guarantee credit part of Pension Credit

Some people on a low income, including those receiving tax credits, can also receive free or reduced cost NHS dental treatment.
